Dear Grizz | Dear Willow: the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Our Willow the Wild has struck a delightful pen-pal friendship with Brindleberry Acres’s handsome Grizz. They don’t know we are publishing their letters to each other (shhhh… don’t tell them).

Letter 1.

Dear Grizz,

First of all, may I say how glad I am that you wrote to me? Second, I’m afraid I won’t sound as dignified and ladylike, I tend to share my mom’s “sailor mouth” as she calls it, not sure what that means.

I confess I never paid much attention to fate, but now I find it impossible not to! Of all the humans I could have adopted, I chose a couple of animal photographers, and had that not happened, my mom would have never met your mom (by the way, did you know they are both introverts?), and hence, you and I may have never connected! I believe in fate now.

I can’t believe how many things we have in common! I love my orange Ruffwear harness 🙂

I would love to know more about you and discuss everything we love (and hate hehe). How cool to know that I now have someone I can someday hope to visit in Canada. What is it like there? I hear my mom say she’d like to drive us out there someday.
California is great and we love it here, but I sometimes wish we had more places where we could run free, safely and without bothering anybody. We do have some wonderful wild places here though, I’ll make sure to share photos with you (and ask my mom not to send too many embarrassing ones, she loves to do that) and hope you’ll do the same. Is it cold where you live? Is there snow? I LOVE snow.

Did you have any brother or sisters? Did you know your parents? I don’t know much, if anything about mine. I grew up around many other dogs, but not that many people. Before my mom came to get me at the shelter, I found humans really scary. I still do, sometimes…

I really enjoyed looking through your photos, and if I may be so bold, I think your are hot… erm, I mean, stunning; 😀 and I like a little salt and pepper on guys, it reminds me of snow sprinkled on earth.

Looking forward to learning more about each other, and thank you again so much for reaching out, I am so very glad you did!

P.S. What is your favorite thing to do on a Sunday?

your friend,

Willow

Willow, I am glad that you have a new pen pal and I am sure that Grizz is happy about it too. Willow, your mom takes wonderful photos of you and you are a great looking dog that looks built for hiking in the wild. I don’t know how well you see colors but your mom has taken some delightful photos of you that have wonderful colors. Hope your new relationship with Grizz is a great one!

I can just hear Willow’s flirty, goofy “voice” as I read this. Love this developing friendship! Such a clever idea. 🙂
