CURRENTLY DIGGING: February

Currently Digging is a collection of things we have enjoyed throughout the month. Great Instagram accounts you should follow, stuff for you, for your dogs/cats, as well as great things to eat/drink or listen to; and of course, cannot forget a great read.

So, here it is, what we are Currently Digging in February…

Well Read: The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton
Two friends had recommended this book to me, and I am glad I finally got a chance to get to it. It is a worthwhile read that masterfully switches from two time periods, with one thread connecting them. It is elegant and full of good twists and turns.

Instagram Follow: @otisandroo
Otis & Roo represents everything I love and believe in from a boutique pet business. Dog-lovers and make smiths, they see a collar as far more than a simple necessity for your dog, but a chance to express their individuality. One of my favorite things about their Instagram feed is their inspiration board for each piece. It is pure eye candy to me. Maybe someday I’ll convince them to create a collar inspired by Willow the Wild 😀

Grandma Lucy’s Performance Rabbit
I keep our dogs on a varied diet, rotating from home-cooked (when I am blessed with time) meals, to several premium foods they love and thrive on. Grandma Lucy’s had been recommended to me a while back by a friend. Though Corbin can’t have it because rabbit is a warming food (and he does better on cooling foods), Willow on the other hand finds it irresistible (she does well with warming foods). I confess to salivating myself when I prepare it for her, it smells amazing. It is among the top food brands out there and it uses US-sourced ingredients too.

For the tastebuds: Pressed Juicery’s Chocolate Almond drink
I do have a bit of a sweet tooth… And this is one of the most delicious and satisfying drinks I have come across. I have reached for it in recent months as a better alternative to a bowl full of chocolate ice cream 😀 . They have many other great combinations to sip on. Word of advice, don’t let this particular one sit in your fridge for too long before enjoying it. It is better served fresh!

For the trail… or your mat: Alo Yoga Leggings
Though I confess to cringing a little at the name of this particular pair of stirrup leggings (Goddess Legging *cringes at the word “goddess”), I have to say this is one of the nicest pairs I have ever invested in. Though I prefer a high-waisted legging, I love the stirrups (you can wear the legging covering your heels or around your ankles, like normal tights), and the fabric is flattering and dry-wicking. They have many lovely colors, and the ribbed fabric around my heels has helped me stay on my mat rather than slipping off it (it has happened before).

Tune in: Amy Winehouse Back to Black
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the stirring documentary Amy yet, please don’t miss it. It just won a well-deserved Oscar and I am glad, because I was rooting for it. I have been going back… to black recently, especially moved by the version of the title song you see Amy sing in the documentary. It is pure, powerful, emotional talent, and it gives you a peek at who Amy really was.

Lusting after: F-Stop Gear’s Kashmir UL
Times are changing and thankfully, more makesmiths are creating products with a female body in mind. This has long been my burden with camera backpacks. Most of them made for the rugged outdoorsMAN. But now, F-Stop Gear has made the Kashmir, built for a shorter torso and super light for better outdoor adventures, yet rugged enough to keep your gear safe. I want this bag so badly for our upcoming trip to Ireland.
