from the Photo Lab and Design Lab

This past year has been wonderful in so many ways. It has been full of hard work, great projects, new friends and best of all; many amazing dogs and cats.
Here’s a look at this year in a nutshell. Thank you for following us, sharing our posts with friends and for being a part of the Photo Lab and Design Lab team!

This personal project of ours has been so enjoyable to work on and share with you. We will continue to create Critters this coming year and have some great plans in the works for them in the future.

Bark Magazine
Working with the team behind Bark Magazine has been a dream come true for us, it has helped us share our work with their readers and we are so honored to illustrate great writing. You can see our work on issues No. 66 and 67.

Top Images: We designed the layout and did most of the photography for the "Printing as Art and Craft" article. Bottom Images: We provided photography for the "Action/Re-Action" article.

We gained some wonderful new friends this year, in collaboration with Anjel Van Slyke of 35 Summers, we provided photography for OllyDog’s 2012 Product Catalogue. We were so thrilled to be a part of this project for and get to know the team behind these wonderful products for dogs.

Please be sure to visit OllyDog's site for some great products for your pup!

Art for a Cause
This year, we had the great pleasure to collaborate with Olive-Route Press in creating a fine-art letterpress print in honor of the search and rescue dogs that responded to the Japanese tsunami relief effort. These prints are for sale at our Design Lab shop with proceeds benefitting the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.

 52 Weeks Project
Being a small part of this creative blog ring has given us something to look forward to each week, it has been a fun challenge to be given a weekly assignment to work on and share, and we have made some great friends along the way. We look forward to more weekly fun in 2012.

Giving Back
This is the single most important aspect of our work; giving something back to these wonderful creatures that make our lives complete, and to the people who work tirelessly to spread a message of love and compassion. We are so thrilled and proud to be a part of these two amazing projects, a huge thank you to our friends at P.L.A.Y. Pet Lifestyle and You and StubbyDog. We were also honored to join HeARTs Speak, an amazing organization working to unite the individual efforts of animal artists and animal rescues into collective action for social change.

We created images for P.L.A.Y.'s Warm Bellies Initiative (top right). We created the design of the StubbyDog 2012 calendar (bottom left).

We had so much fun being a small part of Surf City Surf Dog and Kunde Family Estate’s Pawtriotic Day Celebration. We hope you’ll come see us at next year’s events!

Design Lab Launch
After a lot of hard work and dedication, we were thrilled to finally release our Design Lab website! We hope you’ll visit our Facbook page, and follow us on Pinterest to stay up to date on the latest projects.

Celebrating Our Bond with Animals
Of course, then there’s all the wonderful dogs and cats (and birds!) we photographed this year, we truly love our job and our clients. Below are some of our favorite images from this year’s sessions.

Thank you to all our wonderful clients!

It has indeed been a wonderful year, and we would like to thank everyone for your support, your friendship and warmth. We look forward to a new year full of great new projects, collaborations, more wagging tails and purrs. Happy Holidays and lots of warm wishes from The Photo Lab and Design Lab team!
